I've got a veggie steamer, unopened, sitting in its box in my garage, I bought it back in April in a sale. But I _am_ going to use it - one day!! Love SallyM ------------------------------------------- From: Mimi Once you start steaming veggies you'll never go back. ------------------------------------------- From: trightmy We have a plastic veggie steamer for the microwave and use it frequently. It is about the size of a 2 quart saucepan and has an insert that holds the contents a half inch above the water. I put in a handful of small carrots over almost a half inch of water and nuke them for 3 minutes, then add broccoli florets, califlower pieces, and slices of squash, zuccini, or whatever's handy and nuke for another 3 1/2 minutes. Quick and healthy. Tom Rightmyer ------------------------------------------- From: Mimi You're using more water than necessary. I rinse the veggies then dump off ALL the water. What sticks to the veggies is plenty for steaming & you lose no vitamins to the excess water. Just rinse, dump, cover & Zap - Scrumptous. Shalom, Mimi Mimi Bennett-Aronson
