I have tasted good chili, not so good chili, and some of the most GAWD-OFFAL CRAP in the world. One of these cook-offs is in the immediate vicinity of Ithaca, NY (sorry, Cyn, if you're listening...) NEED I SAY MORE????? I have had (believe it or not) a NUMBER (no, not just one, but a veritable PLETHORA)of vegetarian soups labeled as "chili" infilicted on me.... But, my favorite was the year I entered "Hormel" canned chili (W/O beans, natch), under an assumed name. Even without me voting, as I knew which entry it was given it was my crock-pot...it was runner-up in the "public vote" and got an "honorable mention by the pro judges...go figger. - pax - Andrew H.
