These reminded me of a recipe some long haul truckdrivers cook
(so I've been told by my daughter the truckdriver).

Truckdriver Stew
Printer version of this recipe

Chop up and season meat, veggies, herbs etc.
Package the whole thing in heavy foil with a small amount of water.
Place it on top of the truck motor in a location where it won't vibrate off
and drive for 6 or more hours. Works sort of like a slow cooker,

On a long trip you could probably do a pot roast. 8-)
