Where has the time gone? Here we are at Christmas Eve, with King College singing away - the last few weeks seem to have flown! On BBC Radio 4's Sunday Programme, they have been holding a competition for a reduced Nativity story: http://www.bbc.co.uk/religion/programmes/sunday/features/nativity.shtml (LINK Out of Date - December 12, 2010) The following entry is rather good (IMHO)
Reduced Nativity Recipe
Serves: the human race Directions: 1. Take your virgin and using the archangel annunciate. 2. Allow to rest and rise for nine months, then at the last moment, using your husband and donkey, transfer to a pre-cooled stable populated with the assorted animals 3. Deliver the baby 4. Gently folding the three shepherds, cooing appreciatively and illuminate the results using the star 5. Between 11 and 13 days later your nativity with be ready for the addition of the magi 6. Take the magi and arrange them appropriately for adoration 7. Finally garnish with gold, frankincense and myrrh and await the saving of humanity - this may take some time but faith will surely be rewarded in this world or the next.
