Ok. Now we have 250 responses in favor and 250 against. Could we PLEASE return to the recipies and drivel like we're supposed to be discussing??

I'm dumping anything with the subject line "Re: Gender styles/approaches" into a folder called "Flames." It's supposed to get cold and sleet again Wednesday, so I can just haul them up and get warm.

Flames (Veggie) Cassarole
Printer version of this recipe

Put some water to boil and start cooking some vermicelli.

In a large skillet or wok put some oil, some freshly pressed garlic,
and chopped red and green peppers, squash, zucchini, broccoli, onion,
and saute until just barely tender.
Maybe add some sweet basil and other herbs to taste.

Drain the vermicelli and dump in with the vegees.
Wonderful meal that takes about 20 minutes from chopping block to dinner table.
Good any time of the year. Even Lent, unless you are Orthodox.

Does it have to be vermicelli or can it be spaghetti? Thank you sounds great.
. . . the answer is no. If I don't have vermicelli, I'll use spaghetti. But I usually use spaghetti for, er, well, spaghetti. Actually, it's one of those things that you dump in whatever's handy. Mushrooms, for example. The combination I mentioned gives it a colorful visual appeal. The red and green (sometimes even yellow) sweet bell peppers contribute to much of the flavor. But then, I tend toward being a vegetarian. Even as a kid, I could be happy with a meal of nothing but vegetables. (Yes, I know; I'm weird.) Of course part of the secret was we often had fresh vegetables from our garden.

A glass of a simple dry white wine goes well with this.
