Dear ailing listsibs (or just hungry ones) You can also search on 'Pho' to find some Vietnamese versions of about the same things. The recipes on the web call for some pretty exotic ingredients, at least if you live in rural Virginia. Here's what I really do at home. Here's a sort of recreation of Pho, sort of the national noodle soup of Vietnam, also found in Laos. Printer version of this recipe I think the broth is often a beef stock but you can use the same chicken broth as before. Top with choice of thinly sliced meat. I've had it with beef, chicken or even duck. Serve with a plate of garnishes: Also have on the table a dish of this sauce or containers of the separate condiments: 1/4 cup fish sauce (nam pla or nuoc mam) Every diner adds to his bowl as much of the sauce and garnishes as desired.
