Take one orange, peel off the outer orange rind and cut it up into thin strips.
Peel off the white underpeel and discard.
Cut orange flesh into small pieces.

Simmer peel in 1-1/2 cups water for 15-20 minutes.
Add orange bits/juice.

Now take 4 cups of cranberries, pick 'em over and add to orange-water mixture.
Cook until a fair number of berries have popped open.
Add 1-1/2 cups sugar.

Simmer for about 15 minutes.

Pack into hot sterile jars and process 20 minutes in a boiling water bath.
Makes about 5 cups.

Merry Christmas, all! and especially all who cook!
