I cried myself to sleep when I recieved this. So far away and never to meet you all. What can we poor brothers and sisters out on the wild frontiers of the list do to console ourselves in our distress? Can we have a proxy? Or maybe set up a special thread amongst ourselves to mark the occasion? Ha me! Life is so full of dissapoinments.

But seriously good luck and have a God time. Will be thinking of youall. Heres a little recipe to help you along.

Cut and come again Chocolate Cake

INGREDIENTS FOR CAKE:
2 cups all-purpose flour
2 cups fine sugar
1 cup butter
4 tablespoons drinking chocolate
1 cup water
1/2 cup buttermilk
2 eggs, slightly beaten
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

INGREDIENTS FOR FROSTING:
1/2 cup butter
4 tablespoons drinking chocolate
5 tablespoons buttermilk
4 cups (1 lb) icing sugar, sifted
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup walnuts, chopped, you can of course use other types of nuts!

TO PREPARE THE CAKE:
Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
Sift flour and sugar together. put to one side.

Place butter, cocoa and water to in a sucepan and just bring to boil, (do not allow to over cook) then pour into sugar and flour mixture. Mix thoroughly. Add the rest of the cake ingrdients and mix well.

Line a 9 x 13 inch baking tray and pour mixture in.
Bake 25 minutes at 400 degrees or until meat skewer pricked into center of cake comes out clean.

TO MAKE UP THE FROSTING
Place butter, cocoa and buttermilk into saucepan andbring to boil.(Again don't overcook) Remove from heat. Add remaining ingreians and beat quickly until thoroughly blended. Spread over cooled cake while frosting is still warm.

Serves aprox 18-22, more if you cut it really smalll and the cat (or dog) don't get in first. Warning keep away from kids and parishoners
