spacer Apple Crisp

Your apple crisp sounds lovely, but the oats make it altogether too healthy! A suggested alternative (pace The Vegetarian Epicure):

Apple Crisp
Printer version of this recipe

1. Peel, core and slice up five or six big Granny Smith apples.
Put them in a baking dish with 1/4 c water.

2. Mix topping:
    3/4 c flour
    1/2 c brown sugar
    1/2 c white sugar
    1/4 tsp salt
    1/2 tsp cinnamon
    1/2 tsp nutmeg
    1 stick butter
(I do this in a little food processor, but if the butter is softened you can do it in a mixer or by hand)

3. Spread topping over apples. Cover.

Bake at 350 deg F.
One half hour covered, one half hour uncovered.
Let cool (if you can stand to wait). Bliss!
