St. Sam's and St. Bede's Recipe Pages Bon Appetit! --------------------------------------------- Fake BBQ Pork Not having a big pit in my backyard or even a little smoker, I decided to try to make a pork barbeque sandwich like those served at the Dinosaur BBQ (the BBQ of Presidents) which would take advantage of the boneless sirloin pork chops on sale this week at the P & C. I stuck the chops in a glass pan with about half a cup of water (only four chops since this was an experiment) and covered the thing with foil. I baked this for about two and a half hours at 325 degrees and then added a cup of dinosaur BBQ sauce and 1/3 cup of Dinosaur Wango Tango Sauce and let the stuff cook in the slow oven for another 45 minutes until it looked like it might start to burn. I now have a pan full of very hot and spicy falling apart into little shreds pork BBQ which I plan to serve with a bit more sauce on a bun for dinner. I suppose that this could be made in my covered grill on the unheated side with the gas turned down low and wet chips to make smoke. Next experiment in heresy coming up.
