I use green beans, wax beans, pinto, kidney, navy, lima, black and garbanzo beans. I drain the beans and use a little sugar, vinegar and olive oil for the dressing. For color you can add a little chopped carrots, corn (or yellow hominy), and green and red bell pepper. Sometimes I use store bought Italian dressing but the salad really needs some sugar.
