St. Sam's and St. Bede's Recipe Pages Bon Appetit! --------------------------------------------- RECIPE FOR ALTAR BREAD WAFERS Warm: 1 cup milk 1/2 cup honey 1 cup (2 sticks) butter Mix and add: 2 cups whole wheat flour 3 cups unbleached white flour Mix all ingredients thoroughly. Divide in three portions and roll each flat, to 1/16 inch. Cut large wafers (with 3" cookie cutter or tumbler). Cut remaining dough into small wafers, not more than 1-1/4" in diameter (center of doughnut cutter or shot glass). Place on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake in preheated 350 deg oven for 10 minutes.
